As part of its fifth anniversary special, the Women’s Wellness Massage and Spa in Patten will open its doors as a relaxation retreat each Tuesday to the community.
Kathy Baker, licensed massage therapist, esthetician and nail tech will offer her expertise and spa from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. to adults, male and female, to come in and take a load off their minds.
“Some people can come after work,” she said. “This will be a place that someone can sit and relax or just ‘veg out.’ It is a nice, quiet place to recoup.”
With soothing music playing low, those who attend can either read or meditate.
“I will have health books at their disposal or they can bring their own reading material,” Baker added.
For Baker, this is something she personally likes to do.
“I used to go down to Borders,” she said. “It is kind of a little get-a-way like a sanctuary. That’s the whole thing. A place where someone can go and gather their thoughts.”
Since Tuesdays are her days off, Baker felt it was the opportune time to offer something to the community.
“I will be coming in and going out,” she said. “If someone wants to talk I will be here.”
Those coming may want to pick Baker’s brain about self-healing or get an answer on skin issues or health questions.
Health and wellness just isn’t Baker’s business.
There is no cost to the open relaxation time. Women’s Wellness Massage and Spa is located at 153 Clark Rd., Patten.
Eventually, Baker would like to add a café and health food store on her property.
