Page named program director
CARIBOU — Presque Isle native Leane Page has been hired as the new program director within the Economic and Workforce Development Division at NMDC, as announced last week by Ryan Pelletier, director of Economic and Workforce Development at the Northern Maine Development Commission.
Leane Page’s duties as the new program director include coordinating staff weekly on large projects, including those aimed toward helping to bolster the county’s workforce through increased education and training.
Pelletier said that Page will also be working closely with NMDC’s regional planning officials on joint ventures.
Page graduated from Boston University with a BA in social work and was most recently a vocational counselor with the Maine Department of Labor at the Presque Isle Career Center. She has also previously worked with the Maine Department of Human Services as a caseworker.
Page said that one of the things she’s most looking forward to in her new career is helping people in Aroostook County.
