CORNVILLE – On January 15, 2012, Elizabeth Ada Oberg passed away at her home in Cornville after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Washburn, on November 7, 1920, to Idell and Jessie (Woods) Jacobs.
She was the oldest of ten children and grew up in Caribou where she graduated from Caribou High school in June, 1939. She met and married Roland Carl Oberg on August 23, 1941, in Worcester, Mass. They moved to Cornville in 1955, where they lived the rest of their married life. They raised four children, Mrs. Louise Tallman (husband, Dean) of Clinton, WI, Richard (wife, Patricia) of Cornville, whom she lived with the past ten years, Mrs. Nancy Argraves (husband, Henry) of Madison, and Mrs. Elaine Letcher (husband, Dale) of Lancaster, California.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses; four sisters, Charlotte of Wells, Marilyn of Caribou, Barbara of St. Louis, MO, and Brenda of Esero, Fl; and a brother, Idell of Mars Hill. Elizabeth enjoyed spending time with her 13 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren, with the 21st expected in three weeks.
She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Roland who died in 1994; four brothers, Malcolm, James, Frederick and Durwood Jacobs; her father, Idell; mother, Jessie; and stepmother, Louise.
The family would like to thank Health Reach Hospice and Norridgewock Health Center for their help and assistance during this difficult time.
Elizabeth leaves behind an extended family and friends all of whom will miss her dearly as she was truly a beautiful soul with infinite love and patience for all.
There will be no visitation hours or funeral service at this time; a graveside service will be held in the spring.
