CARIBOU — The Caribou High School Nordic ski team continues to rack up wins.

Caribou’s Ashley Richards was the first schoolgirl to cross the finish line last Friday at Caribou High School, which hosted a 5K freestyle event.
On Friday at home, the Vikings boys won the 5K freestyle meet with 12 points. Madawaska (47) was second, followed by Presque Isle (50) and Fort Kent (50). Fort Fairfield and Ashland didn’t field enough skiers for a team score.
Results from the top-15 local skiers are as follows: 1, Caleb Chapman, Car, 15:44; 2, Jesse Sandstrom, Car, 16:41; 3, Jesse Rochester, PI, 16:44; 4, Ryan Washington, Car, 17:00; 5, Josh Kovach, Car, 17:02; 6, Brendan Cyr, Car, 17:23; 9, Kjetil Rossignol, Car, 18:28; 10, Jon Rochester, PI, 18:33; and 13 Ron Lund, Car, 19:25.
Caribou was the top girl’s team with 13 points. Fort Kent (41), Ashland (51), Fort Fairfield (65) and Presque Isle (71) followed. Madawaska didn’t field a full team.
