Houlton Southside School held its Geography Bee on Jan. 9. Principal Tiffany Karnes welcomed parents of participants and students. Michael Ross won the competition with Nolan Porter finishing as runner-up. Ross also took an individual test, which was sent into the state. For the Maine Geography Bee, 22 students will be selected based on the results of the written tests.
