Semester Linking Education to Careers
With predictions of shortages of qualified workers in certain fields, SAD 29/70 Adult Education is helping students reach their personal goals as soon as possible. All the incoming students are now participating in sessions to determine the education and career path best suited to them.
All incoming adult education students are exploring their learning styles and personal strengths through a multiple intelligences survey. They also begin a career search by discovering their work values (work importance) and their work-related interests. Students will then intersect the results of these surveys with the various career and job categories that can be researched on the Internet — High Wage In Demand, Green Economy, Rapid Growth, Bright Outlook, New and Emerging, STEM. In additon, the students will hear from Career Center and Dept. of Labor personnel about local career opportunities and ways to successfully enter the job market.
