PRESQUE ISLE & FLORIDA – Taylor Scanlin, a loving son, brother, father and friend went to be with the Lord on February 11, 2012. He was born in Presque Isle, on December 18, 1987.
He graduated from The Villages High School in 2006. Taylor continued his education at MMI in Orlando and became a certified motorcycle technician. He worked as a Line Chef at Cane Garden in The Villages, FL.
Though Taylor’s life was short, he touched all who knew him; he had a way of creating memories that will last a lifetime. He was known for pulling pranks and cutting up, especially with his work family. Taylor cherished spending time with his beloved two year old daughter, Emma Marie “Nugg” Taylor, loved taking Emma to the park or Peach Wave, he was the happiest when Emma was smiling and laughing.
Taylor was an avid guns men; he shared his love for firearms with his sister and uncle. Taylor was able to reunite with his dog Bradley last week, which made him so happy to finally have him to himself.
He was survived by his parents, Bernadette and Richard Taylor of Fort Pierce, FL; his father, Jayme Scanlin of Easton; a sister and brother-in-law, Lindsay Scanlin-Redding and Michael Redding of Twenty-Nine Palms, CA; and his beloved daughter, Emma Scanlin and her mother, Courtney Murtha of Lady Lake, FL; maternal grandparents, Harry and Susan Commons of Fruitland Park, FL; paternal grandparents, Winston and Joan Scanlin of Easton; aunts, Heather Figlow, JoeEllen and Greg Scott; uncle, Pete Figlow; cousins, Brittany and Kaitlyn Figlow, Matthew and Patrick Scott. Taylor leaves behind special friends, Louis Santiago, Chef John Woods, and so many more.
A celebration of life was held at 10 a.m. at Village View Community Church, 8585 SE, 147th Place, Summerfield, FL, 34491, on Friday, February 17, 2012. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. at Beyers Funeral Home, 134 N. Hwy 27/441, Lady Lake. on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012.
