Babysitting course offered

    The Aroostook County Branch of the American Red Cross Pine Tree Chapter is offering a babysitter’s training  course on Saturday, March 24, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Chan Center at Cary Medical Center in Caribou.

    By participating in this training, adolescents, ages 11 to 15, can get the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to care for infants and children. 

    This training teaches participants how to develop leadership skills; perform first aid and CPR; know how to get medical help fast; identify common safety hazards and prevent injuries; make good, responsible decisions; supervise infants through school-aged children; choose safe and age-appropriate toys and games; and perform basic care routines such as diapering, feeding and dressing. Cost is $85 per student.
