The Aroostook Infant Toddler Team will be will be hosting a series of free “connection” workshops for expectant mothers and families of infants and toddlers. Pam Caron, Early Childhood Occupations Instructor explains that nurturing relationships between parents and their little ones is foundational to their healthy development and this actually begins during pregnancy. Parents are invited to attend each session to explore new ways of sharing time with their children.
On April 14, from 10-11 a.m. at the Houlton Higher Education Center, parent/infant/toddler yoga with Pam Caron will be explored. Parents and little ones will connect on the mat as they share yoga stories. Families will receive more gifts to foster attachment.
On May 5, sign language with Heidi Broad-Smith will be the featured activity. Again parents will receive resources to add to their bag.
Funding from the statewide community infant toddler team has enabled ACAP to offer these free series in three locations throughout Aroostook County. Parents are encouraged to register early since space is limited to 15 families per site. For more information and to register, please call ACAP Resource Development Center at 760-3500 or 1-800-917-1100.
