WASHBURN — Amateur radio enthusiasts interested in becoming licensed will have the opportunity to do so during a session planned in Washburn on April 17.

“Amateur radio licensing examinations will be offered in Washburn on Tuesday, April 17, at the Baptist church, located across from the park on Main Street. Testing will start at 6:30 p.m.,” said Bob White, event organizer.

Walk-ins will be accepted but participants are required to bring certain documentation.

“Examinees must have two forms of positive identification and their Social Security number. Licensed amateurs trying to upgrade must have in their possession the original license and any original certificates of completion and a clear photocopy of each,” said White.

White recommends contacting the team VE leader in advance, if special exam facilities are required. The cost is $15. For more information, call Steve, NINXU, at 227-2473.
