PI Elks finish fourth in EM Tournament

    The Houlton Lodge of Elks No. 835 hosted the 90th Eastern Maine Bowling Tournament March 28-31. After four days of bowling, the championship came down to the last string between Houlton Elks No. 1 and Trinity, with the Houlton Elks picking up its second consecutive title.

    The team records for the tournament were as follows: Houlton Elks No. 1, 29-7, with a pin fall of 15,900; Trinity, 26-10, 16,268; third, Houlton Odd Fellows, 24-12, 15,386; fourth, Presque Isle Elks No. 1, 20-16, 15,574; fifth, Woodland No. 1, 19-17, 15,179; sixth, Presque Isle Elks No. 2, 18-18, 14,644; seventh, Houlton Elks No. 2, 13-23, 14,816; eighth, Calais #1, 12-24, 14,949; ninth, Woodland No. 2, 10-25, 14,376 and 10th, Calais No. 2, 9-27, 14,629.

    Capturing the 10 high average scores were: Terry Grant, Trinity, 127.19; Tom Pelkey, Trinity, 125.19; Jon Fraser, Houlton Odd Fellows, 121.74; Don Lindsay, Calais, 121.15; Mike Lee, Presque Isle No. 1, 120.30; Bryan Swallow, Houlton, 119.59; Tim Stewart, Houlton, 119.15; Mike Gardner, Trinity, 119.11; Chris Stewart, Houlton, 118.30 and Bob Cleary, Houlton, 118.22.

    Trinity’s Pelkey took high single with a score of 189 and the low single went to Rick Lord of Calais No. 1, 72. High three scorer was Calais’ Mike Lewey, 474.

    The team high single was rolled by Trinity, 684 and team high three posted by Calais No. 1, 1,905.
