Richard Hoppe, of Portage Lake, ran the Boston Marathon on Monday and finished in a time 3:51.56.

According to the Boston Athletic Association website, Hoppe was the only local runner to compete.

This year the marathon was run during record breaking heat. More than 2,100 runners were treated at medical tents along the 26.2-mile course for dehydration, heat exhaustion, and other ailments.

Nearly 22,500 runners took part in the annual Patriot’s Day tradition.
