PT Juanita Lane    SHERMAN and MEDWAY – Juanita Lane, 78, was reunited with her beloved husband, in the house of the Lord, April 23, 2012, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born Jan. 4, 1934, in Patten.
    Juanita spent most of her life in Sherman, working on her farm and raising her family. She spent the latter part of her life residing in Medway, where she died peacefully with family members and a dear friend by her side. Even though she was very busy with her family and farm, Juanita found the time to go back to school. She graduated from Katahdin High School in 1979. Juanita was active in the community, participating in church events, local celebrations and dances. She was a member of Molunkus Fish & Game Club, and Molunkus Valley Snowsled Club. She was well known for her homemade yeast rolls at the public dinners. Juanita loved life and especially loved to go to dances. She had been known to kick up a good heel.
    Juanita is sadly missed by seven children, Leona Lane and significant other, Tim Guiggey, who was also a dear and trusted friend, Darcie Fortin and husband, Albert, Scott Lane, Kathy Lane and friend, Brenda, Joelene Fortin and friend, Sandy, Harold Lane and wife, Roberta, who was very special to her, and Wanda Willigar and husband, Donis; 18 grand-children; 19 great-grand-children, with two on the way; four brothers, Roy Young, Ora Young, Dana Young and Leland Hatt; several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her long-term companion, Bert Birmingham; and special friends, Jim and Ina Pratt, Roger and Cheryl Powers, and Mike Guiggey. Juanita was predeceased by her loving husband of 30 years, Joel Lane; daughter-in-law, Robin; parents, Albert Young and Genevieve Hatt; two sisters, Doreen Glidden and Roberta Arsenault; and an infant son.
    Friends and family called 10 a.m. – noon Thursday, April 26, at Washburn Memorial Church, Sherman, where a service honoring her life began at noon with her grandson, the Rev. Donnie Willigar officiating. Interment was at Sherman Mills Cemetery. There was a celebration of Juanita’s life after the service at her former farmhouse and where her daughter Leona resides, on Extract Road, Sherman.
