Houlton tennis teams face Van Buren, Caribou

The Houlton High School tennis teams had two matches last week against Van Buren and Caribou.
On Monday, the Houlton boys (4-2) lost to Van Buren, 3-2 and the Houlton girls (0-6) to the Crusaders, 5-0 in their second match up of the season.
    Van Buren boys 3, Houlton 2: Singles, Zach Harvey over Eric LaPlante, 8-5; Lucas Anderson topped Mark Levasseur, 8-4 and Cody Woods fell to Connor Lapierre, 8-3. In doubles, Josh Sullivan and Ethan Nickerson were downed by Van Buren’s Forrest Bouchard/Jordan Banks, 9-7, while Robby Woods and Lucas Grant were beaten by John Parent/Brad Roy, 8-6.
Van Buren girls 5, Houlton 0: In singles, Courtney Bragan lost to Haley Lizotte, 8-0; Caleigh Sullivan fell to Parise Rossignol, 8-0 and Natasha Bourgoin won by forfeit. In doubles, Autumn London and Jackie Condon were defeated by Courtney Parent/Chantal Rioux, 8-0 and Janelle Levesque and Tessa Winship were topped by Felisha Bouchard/Isabel Parent, 8-0.
Results from last Tuesday’s meet against Caribou, with Houlton players listed first, were as follows:
Caribou girls 4, Houlton 0 — Singles, Bragan fell to Carlee Pinette, 8-0 and London dropped her match to Katie Keaton, 8-0 and then a double forfeit in singles. In doubles, Levesque and Winship fell to Alexa Massey/Erin Patton, 8-0 and Sarah Sirois and Kristen Goodall lost to Clara Collins/Makayla Bouchard, 8-0.
Houlton boys 3, Caribou 2 — Singles, Anderson beat Michael Marquis, 8-3; Harvey bested Tyler Willey, 8-1 and Woods fell to Lucien Caverhill, 8-1. In doubles, Sullivan and Nickerson fell to Zachary Gorence/Cameron Hill, 8-6, while Woods and Grant defeated Dustin Coty/Dylan Coty, 8-5.
