Ankle-deep in dandelions

Why wasn’t our Veterans Park on Main St. ready for the recent Memorial Day observance?
It was a disgrace that our Veterans had to stand in ankle-deep grass and dandelions. I’m sure that in a very short time the park could have been mowed and looking proud for the Memorial Day Service.
On the local news I saw all the other Veterans Parks highlighted around Aroostook County were groomed, neat and clean for the special services, Presque Isle’s park was not. I was ashamed that our city showed disrespect to our Veterans Park and to our Veterans who served this city, state and country. They all deserve the respect of a park that is picture perfect not only on Memorial Day but every day!
