Langley, Linda Diane Poitras – 72, July 8, 2012, Durham, North Carolina.A graveside remembrance and burial service will be held for special friends and family on August 19, 2012.
Linda Diane Poitras Langley, 72, passed away July 8, 2012, at her home in Durham, North Carolina. She was born on December 27, 1939 in Limestone, Maine, the daughter of Albert and Dorothy (Butler) Poitras, of Limestone, and graduated from Limestone High School, Class of 1957.
Having a strong belief in life-long education and physical health, Linda earned Master’s degrees in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology at the University of Maine Orono. She most recently worked in health studies for the Duke University School of Nursing and Coda Research, Inc. both in Durham, North Carolina. Linda enjoyed knitting and donated her own creations of mittens and hats to underprivileged children and was a “blanketeer” for Project Linus, knitting afghans for seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise needy children.
Linda is survived by three children, Cheryl Robertson of Orono, Maine, Cynthia Robertson of Hillsborough, North Carolina, and Dave Robertson with his wife, Heather in Alexandria, Virginia. Linda is also survived by eight grandchildren; Bailey, Chelsea, Brittany, Lauren, John, Denis, Julia and Alexander and one great-grandchild, Logan.
A graveside remembrance and burial service will be held for special friends and family on August 19, 2012 at 1 p.m. with a Celebration of Life to be held immediately following at the home of Patsy and Paul Poitras, 22 Church Street, Limestone. All are welcome.
