21st Crimestoppers tourney completed

MARS HILL — The 21st annual Crime Stoppers Golf Tournament took place at the Mars Hill Country Club on Saturday and Sunday, July 28 and 29, with 31 teams participating.
FOUR GENERATIONS of the McQuade family took to the golf course on Sunday for the 21st annual Crime Stoppers Golf Scramble. Pictured are four-year-old Jack, along with Andrew, Dana and Alton.
Winners for men’s gross was the team of Warren Walker, Scott Walker, Dave Dubois and Steve Merry with a 52. Second gross, with a 53, went to Joe Toma, Dan Wishert, Tyler Sappier and Corey Wright. The third gross team was made up of Steve Woodworth, Jason Woodworth, Justin Woodworth and Jon Woodworth. Their score was a 57.
Winners for men’s net were Ted Peterson, TJ Peterson, Dustin Delong and Bret Delong with a 50. The second net team, with a 51, included Peter Allen, Lloyd Allen, Seth Allen and Bill Harvey. Taking third net were Peter Allen, Seth Allen, Lloyd Allen and Mitch Wheeler, with a 51.
Other awards included closest to the pin on hole No. 6, Peter Allen, 13 feet, 2 inches); closest to the pin on hole No. 8, Matt Day, 12 inches; Longest Putt on hole No. 12, Jason Woodworth (23 feet, 3 inches); closest to the pin on hole No. 13, Michael Collins (2 feet, 6 inches); closest to the pin on hole No. 15, Jason Woodworth, 5 feet, 1 inch; longest drive on hole No. 18, Mike Rioux; and closest to the sheriff, Saturday, Ted Peterson, 32 feet; and Sunday, Dave Dubois, 9 feet, 5 inches.
