PRESQUE ISLE — Dylan Berkoski struck out 10 batters in 5-2/3 innings as Aroostook Federal Savings and Loan defeated Woodland, 10-6, in the finals of the Northern Maine Community Recreation Association Pony League baseball tournament held Friday.

Tyler Dombroski retired the final four Woodland batters to earn the save.
Woodland trailed 8-2 before battling back to score four times in the bottom of the sixth. The key hit was a run-scoring single off the bat of Shane Landeen.
AFSL tacked on two insurance runs in the top of the seventh, with Connor Thibeault’s triple and Justin Ouellette’s single both driving in runs.
Berkoski went 3 for 3, while Ouellette also had three hits and Jacob Burby added two for the winners.
Landeen doubled in addition to his late-game single, while Alex Losienecki tripled and scored a pair of runs for Woodland.
AFSL reached the championship game by beating Rod Brewer Design of Presque Isle, 15-3, in the semifinals, also held Friday.
Ouellette gained the pitching win, allowing two runs in four innings of work. Dombroski went the final three frames and surrendered a single run.
Michael Hunter had three hits, while Nick Pelletier and Ouellette each posted a double and a single for the winners.
Nick Bartlett and Gavin Kelley each had a double and a single for Rod Brewer Design.
Woodland downed Cushman’s Embroidery of PI in the other semifinal, 15-6. Kevin Bither went a strong six innings and picked up the win.
Trailing 2-0, Woodland scored five times in the bottom of the second and never looked back. Matt Manter, Dylan Conroy, Hunter Milliard and Jared Fox all had RBI extra-base hits in the inning.
