Officiating clinics

Board 150 of the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials will hold an officiating school for new officials beginning Oct. 1 at Presque Isle High School.

Classes will be held Mondays from 7-9 p.m. and the fee is $40. Contact Harry Orser at 425-4451 for more information.

Pass allows for unlimited skiing at MWSC venues

The Maine Winter Sports Center has available a Ski Again Pass, which gives skiers unlimited skiing at all MWSC facilities for $150 for the 2012-13 season.

Included in the pass are Bigrock Mountain in Mars Hill, Black Mountain in Rumford, Pineland Farms Nordic Center in New Gloucester, the Nordic Heritage Center in Presque Isle and the 10th Mountain Center in Fort Kent.

Passes can be purchased online at bigrockmaine.com.

CMS boys win 2, tie

The Caribou Middle School boys soccer team was dominant in a 7-2 win over Houlton. Noah Heidorn and Josiah Krul had three goals each and Seth Roy knocked in the other Viking goal.

In a 3-3 tie with the Presque Isle White team, PI was able to score the tying goal with four minutes left in regulation and the two teams played through two three-minute overtime periods with nothing decided.

Krul scored twice and Alex Ezzy had the other goal for Caribou. Noah Frost was brilliant in goal for the Vikings.

Caribou then managed a 5-1 victory over Madawaska behind two goals and an assist from Noah Heidorn. Krul, Spencer McDuffie and Cole Jackson also scored goals for CMS.

The Vikings registered a 3-1 victory over Fort Fairfield behind Krul’s two goals and another from Ezzy, who also contributed an assist. Jackson also collected an assist for the winners.

In a 6-1 triumph over Madawaska, Caribou dominated as evidenced by its 15 corner kicks taken compared to none by the Owls. Krul and Roy banged in two goals each, while Jackson and Dominick Judd each notched one. Judd, Krul and Dawson Hebert had assists. Dylan Bonville handled the goalkeeping chores for Caribou.

Evan Mechalko, Camden Huck, Spencer McDuffie, Bailey Griffeth, Nic Sleeper, Theo Strid, Kyle Boucher and Connor Plourde were others cited for their strong play by coach Steve Perreault.
