PRESQUE ISLE — Voters wanting an opportunity to get to know the four candidates vying for two seats on Presque Isle’s City Council will get a chance to have questions answered during a public forum Oct. 24 hosted by the Central Aroostook Chamber of Commerce.

“The Central Aroostook Chamber of Commerce invites citizens to attend the event, which will take place in the City Council chamber at City Hall from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24. The gathering allows the public to discover what the candidates for City Council offer you, the citizens and business owners of Presque Isle, if they are elected to serve on Presque Isle’s City Council for the next four years,” said Theresa Fowler, CACC executive director.

Fowler said the CACC has invited the four candidates — Donald Gardner, Jacqueline Goodine, Craig Green and incumbent Richard Engels — to participate in a forum that will provide each candidate an opportunity to tell the electorate what they anticipate providing the citizens of Presque Isle.

‘The moderator for the evening will ask each candidate a series of questions relating to issues that are facing the Presque Isle City Council,” said Fowler.

CACC staff are in the process of collecting questions to be posed to the panel at the event.

“The CACC invites the public to submit questions that will be posed to the candidates during the forum on Oct. 24. If you have any issues that you would like addressed during this public forum, please send your written questions to the Chamber at 3 Houlton Rd., Presque Isle, ME 04769 or e-mail them to tfowler@centralaroostookchamber.com before Oct. 22,” said Fowler.
