Race to aid Red Cross
PRESQUE ISLE — The second annual Octoberfest 5K Walk and 10K Race will be held Sunday, Oct. 21 at the Crow’s Nest.
Last year’s event raised over $2,000 for the Pine Tree Chapter of the American Red Cross.
The 5K walks begins at 9:30 a.m. and the 10K run at 10 a.m. Pre-registration is recommended. Send an e-mail to octoberfest10k@yahoo.com to obtain a form, which will also be available on race day beginning at 8:30 a.m.
The entry fee is $20 for the 10K run and $10 for the walk. Brunch after the event is included in the registration fee.
The overall female and male race winners will receive a three-day, two-night stay at a cottage on Long Lake and a one-hour massage. Medals will be awarded to the first 100 finishers of the 10K and the first 50 walkers.
