    HOULTON — Tonight is the final night of the 57th annual Rotary Radio & TV Auction being sponsored by the Houlton Rotary Club. The auction will run from 6-10:30 p.m. It is broadcast on WHOU 100.1 FM and Houlton Cable Channel 13. A live webcast can also be accessed through www.houltonrotary.org.
    In addition to the half hour items and Wednesday night special items that are featured for the evening, this is also the final opportunity to bid on the 3 Night Specials that have been running since Monday. The successful bidders at the close of the auction this evening will be awarded the 3 Night Specials including a camp package from Ward Log Homes.
     A complete listing of items for bid can be picked up at area businesses or at the auction room at Watson Hall on Main Street. The list is also posted on the Internet at  www.houltonrotary.org and searches can be done to find a specific item. Successful bidders are also being listed at this site and a search option is available.

NE-Rotary-dc2-pt-47MANNING THE CAMERA — Rotarian Michael Clark serves as camera operator Monday evening at the annual Houlton Rotary Auction. Clark has participated in the auction for the past 41 years, seeing it evolve from strictly a radio event to a television and now an Internet event.

    Successful bidders can pick up their items at the auction storeroom, which is also located at Watson Hall. Storeroom hours for the remainder of the week are as follows:  Wednesday, Nov. 21, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2-10 p.m.; Thursday, Nov. 22, 9 a.m. to noon; Friday, Nov. 23, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2-5 p.m. Friday is the final day to pick up items from the storeroom. The storeroom number is 532-4620.
    Those picking up items are reminded to bring a list of their item numbers and amount of bid for reconciliation with the storeroom list.
    Payments can be made by cash or check and all items must be paid for in full at the time of pickup. Pledges will continue to be accepted for the Boy & the Boot Endowment Fund sponsored by the Houlton Regional Health Services Foundation.
    The winner of the $500 of fuel oil donated by Dead River Company will be drawn before the close of the auction tonight. Tickets can be purchased from Rotarians or at the auction room until the time of the drawing. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5.
