    Smith, Rachel L., 86, December 7, 2012.  Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home.  Interment held in the Jewell Cemetery, Monticello.     MONTICELLO – Rachel L. Smith, 86, died December 7 at her home. She was born March 16, 1926, in Houlton, the daughter of Frank and Ethel (Nason) Russell.
    Rachel attended Monticello Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed family, cooking, crafts, her poodles, Mop and Annabelle, her cat, Pearl and her goats.
    She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Laurence Smith of Monticello; a daughter, Annette Svitek and her husband, David of Monticello; three grandchildren, Kim, Angela and Johnny; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Temp Russell of MN and Frank Russell of Houlton, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; a sister, May; and five brothers, Maurice, Don, Ervin, Ansel and Charlie.
