The Presque Isle varsity hockey team dropped its fifth consecutive game Saturday, falling at home to John Bapst, 5-3.

Coach Carl Flynn’s squad is now 1-5 and hopes to get back on track when it travels to Houlton to play the Blackhawks in a make-up game Thursday at 6 p.m.

PI will host Winslow Saturday at 1:15 p.m.

In the team’s most recent contest, the visiting Crusaders got two goals from Jacob Fletcher and a goal and an assist from Kurt Massey to pull out the victory.

PI’s Cooper Madore scored off assists from Tyler Seeley and Andrew Michaud midway through the first period to tie the game at 1-1, but Bapst went on to score three unanswered goals to take command.

Seeley scored with 1:22 to play in the second period and again with 4:11 to go in regulation to cut the margin to one, but Bapst put the game away with a goal with 2:37 left.

Colin McKay and Adam Flynn assisted on Seeley’s first goal, while the second was unassisted.

PI held a 23-21 advantage in shots on goal.

The previous weekend in Brewer, PI played well in a 3-1 loss to the Witches.

The game was tied 1-1 after two periods before the Witches netted a pair of goals six minutes apart to claim the victory.

Seeley was the Wildcats’ goal scorer, tallying off assists from Madore and Flynn with 3:35 to go in the second period.

Presque Isle led in shots on goal, 27-18.
