LINNEUS — Two individuals were injured Monday afternoon in a multi-vehicle crash in front of Grammy’s Restaurant on Route 2A.
At 12:29 p.m., Daniel Griffin, 80, of Hodgdon was operating a 2001 Lincoln northbound on Route 2A when he attempted to turn left into the restaurant, according to Sgt. Brian Harris of the Maine State Police. Griffin turned into the path of Curt Ring, 43, of Lincoln who was traveling south in a 2004 Dodge pickup.

“Ring could not avoid Griffin’s vehicle and struck it,” Harris said. “Griffin’s vehicle then careened into the parking lot of the restaurant.”
In the parking lot, Griffin’s vehicle struck a 2006 Nissan car owned by Patrick Chamberland of Sherman, who was inside the restaurant.
Airbags were deployed in both Griffin and Ring’s vehicles and both vehicles sustained significant damage and had to be towed from the scene. Chamberland’s vehicle was also significantly damaged in the crash.
Griffin was taken to Houlton Regional Hospital by a private vehicle for a knee injury, while a passenger in Ring’s vehicle was transported to Houlton Regional Hospital by ambulance and was treated and released.
Houlton Ambulance and the Linneus Fire Department assisted Maine State Police Trooper Dennis Quint at the scene.
