Bean supper to benefit Mapleton Daze festivities

The Mapleton Daze Committee will hold a bean supper fund-raiser dinner Saturday, March 16 at the Lions Hall from 5-7 p.m.
The menu will include beans, hot dogs and desserts. The cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children under 10. Wendell Hudson and friends will provide Irish musical entertainment. Proceeds will benefit the 25th Mapleton Daze festivities.

Date change
Due to the storm, the Mapleton Methodist Church Friday luncheon that was scheduled for last Friday has been moved to this Friday, March 8 at 11:30 a.m.
Scout Show
The annual Boy and Girl Scout Show will be held at the Aroostook Centre Mall this Saturday, March 9. Scouts from local troops will be on hand with displays, activities and the Boy Scout pinewood derby from 9-4 p.m. There will also be a parade of Scouts at 11 a.m. starting in the Food Court and continuing around the inside of the mall. The public is invited to stop by and visit these young people and their leaders to find out more about their troops and their passion for Scouting. If your son or daughter is interested in joining these wonderful programs, be sure to ask for more information.
World Religion Seminar
The Mapleton United Baptist Church will host its continuing World Religion Seminar this Sunday, March 10 from 6-7 p.m. at the church building. This week’s topic will be Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy. The seminar will be presented by Dave Raymond, church member and chair of the Northern Maine Community College arts and sciences department. Refreshments will be served.
