Dale and Cynthia Blackstone, of Washburn, were named the winners of a handcrafted birdhouse, made by Caribou resident Bill Landes, which was raffled off to raise funds for AMHC’s sexual assault awareness services during the ninth annual Andy Santerre Sno-Run Dinner and Auction, held this year in Presque Isle.     Winner of the 2013 Polaris 120 Pro-R child-sized snowmobile, donated by County Sports in Caribou, was Jim Savage of Caribou. Dale and Cynthia Blackstone, of Washburn, were named the winners of the handcrafted birdhouse, made by Bill Landes of Caribou.
Savage and the Blackstones picked up their prizes recently at County Sports, with photos taken to mark the occasion. Event organizer Joe Chamberlain was on hand and said the business and Landes have been longtime supporters of the AMHC fundraiser.
“Bill built and donated the birdhouse, as he has for several past events, to raise funds for the sexual assault awareness fundraiser. County Sports have been supporters from the beginning,” said Chamberlain.
Chamberlain wished to thank all who bought tickets, enabling the organization to raise thousands through the raffle, which ultimately led to AMHC setting another fund-raising record this year of over $52,000.
“Without the support of our sponsors, auction donations and great turnout for the various events, none of this would be possible. We appreciate everyone’s efforts to raise much-needed funds to help Aroostook County children,” said Chamberlain.
Chamberlain said it’s never to late to make a donation. For more information, call toll-free 800-550-3304 to learn about how you may get involved with the annual Sno-Run event or to provide funding support.
