Take Off Pounds Sensibly Chapter 0233 of Houlton met at the Aldergate building on High Street for its March 22 meeting.
Eleven TOPS ladies were present with 5 KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly). Losers of the week were Joanne Scott with daughter Denise Clark as runner-up. The skinny dish was taken home by Shirley Ethier.
Diane Folsom was present and led the meeting. Joanne Scott gave the weight recorder’s report.
Several of the ladies are attending State Recognition Day in Bangor in May and the subject was discussed. Shirley will make reservations. Bonnie Pratt brought a guest, Sharon Anderson.
Janette Nelson gave a reading pertinent to telephone car alarms and how it can help save a life by using it to aid people.
The program was taken over by Betty Ivey who gave 10 foods we should have on our menu: sweet potatoes, cantaloupe, oatmeal, beans, watermelon, broccoli, whole wheat bread, skim milk and oranges.
The group will meet again next Friday. Members are asked to please bring scissors and an empty cereal box for a project. Also on the agenda is the animal shelter, so please bring an item suitable for the shelter to use.
