Grade 4
Chapter One: Zombie Run
“Run,” David cried.
Then a bunch of zombies came out of alleys and sewers.
“Quick! Under the car,” said Lisa.
They all scrambled to the car.
“What now?” Mike whispered.
“I don’t know,” Lisa replied.
“Well, I know I’m not going to spend the rest of my life under here,” David said.
“Okay, so we need a plan,” Mike thought. Then Mike had an idea.
Mike said, “We go into the sewers and …”
“Woe! You forgot the zombies are in the sewer, too,” said Lisa.
“It’s the only way,” David argued.
“Ok,” Lisa said unhappily.
Chapter Two: Yuck!!
“Pee you! It stinks down here,” David replied.
“Well, did you think it would smell good?” Mike said sarcastically. “Look for any drain pipes. David, you’re old enough to go by yourself. Lisa and I are going to stick together.”
“Okay,” David replied bravely.
Half and hour later Mike and Lisa saw 10 zombies.
“What are they eating?” Lisa asked.
“Look out!” someone shouted. Then Lisa screamed. “AAAHHH zombies!”
Mike ran to the valve and started turning it. The zombies were washed away.
