Daniel is the son of Gary and Raeleen Haley of Limestone.  He is an outstanding and very active school citizen.  Daniel serves as the vice president of the senior class, vice president of the LCS student council and president of the National Honor Society.
“He’s a great school citizen — very active in the school — and outside of school he’s very serious about his education,” said Principal White. “He’s a good guy, he has a plan and he’s very motivated to do well; I’m sure we’re going to hear great things about him.
Outside of school Daniel is very active in the Boy Scouts.  He is an Eagle Scout and works at the Boy Scout’s Camp Roosevelt in Eddington where he’s the handcraft director. Daniel also teaches Sunday school. After graduation in June, he is planning to attend Elmira College in New York as chemistry major. He plans to pursue a career as a pharmacist.
Haley, Principal White and other award winners and their principals will attend an Honors Luncheon at the Spectacular Event Center in Bangor on Saturday, April 6.
The Honors Luncheon recognizes these outstanding students with the presentation of an individual plaque and the awarding of five $1,000 scholarships in the names of Horace O. McGowan and Richard W. Tyler; McGowan and Tyler were former Maine principals and executive directors of the Association.
