PRESQUE ISLE — Teaching children about the great outdoors will be the focus once again of the Presque Isle Fish & Game Club’s Sportsman’s Show, to be held at the University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Gentile Hall this weekend.
“The event is slated for Saturday, April 6, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, April 7, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.,” said event organizer Nick Archer, club member.
Archer said many of the exhibits and activities are geared for kids.
“We’ll have a moose-calling contest at 1 p.m. on Saturday, which will include something for the kids. We’re doing all sorts of activities and contests for the children to get things warmed up,” he said.
Many of the venues are designed to keep folks active, especially youth.
In all, over 75 exhibitors will be on hand to explain the latest in their field of expertise. Hourly door prizes will be presented as well. This year’s big door prize is an Old Town canoe.
