PRESQUE ISLE — Transferring the Farm, a daylong workshop scheduled for March 26, will help farmers and farm families make informed decisions about transferring the farm to the next generation.
“We have offered this program across New England over the past several years,” said Gary Anderson of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension. “Each workshop will address details on retirement and estate planning, legal approaches to protect assets from taxes, tools you can use to transfer farm assets, and determining your goals to address transfer planning.”
The workshop will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday, March 26 at the Presque Isle Cooperative Extension Office. FMI: 581-3240.
