Kenzie Clark, daughter of Bruce and Jayne Clark of Houlton, is on the national stage this week at Copper Mountain in Colorado.

Clark, a senior at Gould Academy in Bethel, competes in snowboarding as part of the Maine Mountain Series, which generates national-ranking points to help athletes receive an invitation to compete at the annual largest snowboard “freeski” championship in the world.

Clark flew out last Friday so she could participate in a training day, as the national event runs March 30-April 9.  She will be competing in one event each day.
Clark qualified for the United States of America Snowboard Freeski Assocation (USASA) event by placing first in all three of the events — BoarderCross, slalom and slopestyle — while placing second in the giant slalom where she had enough national points to still qualify.
In the BoarderCross, giant slalom and slalom, Clark is seeded in the top 10 nationally, while in the slopestyle she is in the top 15.
