Supper to benefit fire victims

    There will be a benefit spaghetti supper for the Easler and Deveau family this Saturday, April 20 from 5-7 p.m. at the Mapleton Lions Hall.Donations will assist the family who lost everything in a fire earlier this winter.

Mapleton Alumni meeting

    The Mapleton Alumni Association will hold its annual business meeting tonight, Wednesday, April 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Gloria Wilcox at 90 Pelkey Road in Mapleton. All business and financial matters will be discussed and decided, as well as banquet plans for this June 29. All graduates of Mapleton High School are welcome to attend.

Book Fair

    The Mapleton Parent Organization will be holding its spring Scholastic Book Fair Monday, April 22 through Friday, April 26 at the Mapleton Elementary School. The theme is “Story Laboratory — Reading Gives You Super Power.” This is a buy-one-get-one-free event and will be open during school hours. The MPO will also be hosting a family reading night Thursday, April 25 from 5:30-7 p.m. with guest readers, a book walk, and bookmark making. Set up for the book fair will be Sunday, April 21 starting at 1 p.m. and volunteers are needed. Please contact the school if you are able to help.

Support appreciated

    The members of Mapleton Boy Scout Troop 170 would like to thank everyone that donated bottles and cans during their April 6 bottle drive. It was a huge success! Many thanks for supporting Scouting in Mapleton.

Fiddlehead Supper

    The Chapman Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club will be holding its annual Fiddlehead Supper in May, with the date to be announced. There will be two seatings, 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. at the clubhouse located at 94 Town Hall Road in Chapman. The menu includes tender roast pork, baked “Mapleton” potatoes, freshly picked “Mapleton” fiddleheads, cranberry sauce, applesauce, and a choice of desserts. Fiddlehead-themed appetizers are also served to the guests. Tickets are still $10 each and must be prepaid. Seating is limited, so reserve your tickets by calling Audrey at 764-1769, Susan at 764-1236 or from any member. Tables for eight may also be reserved for $75. Come and support the club.
