The Houlton Junior High (grades 7-8), 5th and 6th grade peewee and 3rd and 4th grade peewee teams will hold sign-ups for the upcoming 2013 season on Monday, May 6, from 5-7 p.m. and Tuesday, May 7, from 5-7 p.m. at the Gentle Memorial Building/Houlton Rec in Houlton.
All area youth in grades 3-8 are encouraged to play and no prior football experience is necessary.
The 5-6 grade peewee team and the 3-4 grade peewee team will play against teams from the Brewer, Hampden, Bucksport, Hermon, Newport, Lincoln, Old Town and Millinocket areas.
The Junior High team will compete against teams from Presque Isle/Caribou, Madawaska, Milo, Millinocket and also teams from the Bangor area.
This years’ fee has been reduced from $150 per player to $100 per player and covers all equipment needed to play football. Fees are due at the time of sign ups and will be used to purchase additional equipment, cover insurances and take care of other Houlton Football Association obligations.
As always, volunteers and parents are encouraged to help the program with fundraising, coaching, officiating, in organizational roles and as Houlton Football Association board members.
