Officials with the County Federal Credit Union will once again recognize non-profit organizations with $1,000 awards to help carry on their good works. The “Count on The County” initiative will present the awards to non-profit organizations in Aroostook County within its field of membership each month for seven months beginning in June.

The County presented $1,000 “Count On The County” awards to the American Red Cross, Ryan’s Heart, Helping Neighbors, C-A-N-C-E-R, Homeless Services of Aroostook and others in 2009.
Credit union officials encourage everyone to take part in this initiative by nominating a deserving organization. Applications are available in all branch locations and online at www.countyfcu.org. Eligible submissions must be a 501(c) non-profit organization in good standing.
Each month, the Count on The County selection committee will choose a non-profit organization from the list of submissions to receive the award.
The County Federal Credit Union’s serves more than 16,400 members with its branches in Caribou, Presque Isle, Fort Fairfield and Houlton.
