The Mars Hill Rotary Club met on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at 6:30 a.m. at the Aroostook Health Center. The special speaker was Ken Kearney, home from Virginia for the Homecoming activities. Ken graduated from ACI in 1963 and went on to UMO. He started his career as a science teacher in New York state before joining the Air Force, becoming a pilot flying in Vietnam.
He spent five years in Hawaii in a test group before moving to South Carolina. Following his military service, Ken worked for Mobil as a corporate pilot and aviation director for 20 years. He then went on to work for AOL/Time Warner for five years before retiring “for good” in 2004.
Ken now spends his time volunteering as a docent, guiding tours at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum at Dulles Airport in Washington, D.C.
