Bradley’s: First in convenience
Looking for a great meal, snack, car wash or need gas at midnight? Bradley’s 24-Hour Citgo and Car Wash, 46 North St., Presque Isle, is always open.
Mike and Carla Cyr, owners, with sons Brad, Doug and Greg, have served the community for 17 years. Store Manager Chris Pelletier and Assistant Store Manager Greg Cyr head a team of friendly staff. Pelletier recently replaced Leigh Smith, who left for a new business venture.
“We wish Leigh good luck and thank him for his dedicated service,” said Mike Cyr.
There’s an extensive dining menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Mapleton Diner donuts, Green Mountain coffee, six cappuccino and nine Slush Puppy flavors, frozen drinks and, soon, fountain soda. Meals to desserts, home-style cooking keeps customers coming back.
“We’ve added baked potatoes, with toppings, to help promote Aroostook County and local farmers, using potatoes and broccoli locally grown — served daily at lunch,” he said.
The store has the largest cooler of any convenience store around, with 12 doors and a wide selection of cold items, two brands of milk and sandwiches.
“We have an air-conditioned and heated dining section that seats 32,” said Cyr. “We offer Carla’s own home-cooked creations and daily specials like chicken stew, lasagna, fetrozinni, primavera and fresh-baked bread. We have pastries, jams and pickles from Up The Country Creations and pastries from the Pastry Corner.”
The drive-up window’s open 7 a.m.-6 p.m. It’s convenient. Call ahead to place your order.
Deli hours: 5 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday; 6 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday; and Sundays 7 a.m.-2 p.m.
Bradley’s offers pay-at-the-pump gas — full service 7 a.m.-6 p.m. The car wash is full- and self-serve.
“We participate in the Grace for Vets program, through the International Carwash Association, washing veterans’ cars Veteran’s Day for free,” said Cyr.
Bradley’s firsts in the city include: 24-hour gas and C-store, deli service and drive-through window. The store also accepts EBT, debit and credit cards.
The business employs about 10 full-time and 12 part-time.
“The fact we’re open 24/7 means we’re there for customers, day or night, providing the best service possible,” said Cyr. “Customer service is what separates our store from others.”
Cyr sees benefits in a locally-owned and –operated business.
“The profits stay in the community. When business is good, it’s good for Presque Isle,” he said.
