Classmates reconnect after 60 years

Two members of the Hodgdon Class of 1952 held a mini-reunion this past summer as Jerome Quint and Norma (Royal) Keown met for the first time in about 60 years. Quint was the valedictorian and Keown was salutatorian at Hodgdon High School.

Quint had made the trip to Maine from his home in San Diego, Calif. and was trying to reach out to the surviving members of his graduating class. Quint contacted Keown about stopping in Bowling Green, Ky. on his way back home from his visit to Maine, according to Keown’s son Richard.

CN-Reunion-dcx-pt-35REUNION — Jerome Quint, formerly of Hodgdon, recently visited with classmate Norma (Royal) Keown in Kentucky. Quint was the valedictorian for the Class of 1952, while Keown was salutatorian. Quint, who know lives in San Diego, Calif., was reaching out to surviving members of his class.

“He flew in one morning and mom and dad met him at our airport and then they went out to breakfast,” Richard said. “After breakfast, they went to our local Air Park to look at some older airplanes on display. After that, they stopped by the house for them to reminisce and to look over their old yearbook that mother still has and to catch up on each other’s lives. The get-together only lasted a few hours, but both enjoyed their time together reminiscing.”
