Cornerstone golf tourney

    The seventh annual Cornerstone Christian Academy Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, Sept. 14 at Presque Isle Country Club.

    Registration is at 7:30 a.m. and the shotgun start is at 8:30 a.m. The event is a three-person best-ball scramble and the entry fee is $120 for a team. Individuals may sign up for $40 and placed on a team.
    Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three teams for both gross and net. Longest drive and closest to pin winners will earn certificates to the PICC pro shop. Hole-in-one prizes include $15,000 cash, a set of golf clubs and a flat screen television. There is also a putting contest with a chance to win $5,000 cash.

Tigers win 2 in varsity golf

    The Fort Fairfield Tigers recently competed in a pair of home golf matches, beating Ashland last Wednesday, 9-2 in match play, while downing Hodgdon, 7-4, the following afternoon.
    Noah Bernard and Robbie Watson shared medalist honors against the Hornets as both carded 36s. Jon Bernard had a 47, Vince Campbell a 53 and Shyla Bouchard a 64.
    For Ashland, Cody Blair came in with a 55 and Gabby Cyr a 62.
    Watson’s 38 led the way against the Hawks. Noah Bernard had a 40, Jon Bernard a 50, Campbell a 53 and Jordann Coiley a 59 for FF.

Bowling meetings

    Northern Lanes bowling alley is getting ready for another year of league play and organizational meetings have been scheduled as follows:
    Sept. 4, 6:30 p.m., Men’s Monday and Wednesday Night leagues; Sept 5, 6:30 p.m., Men’s Thursday Night League; and Sept. 8, 5 p.m., Sunday Night Mixed Doubles.
    The junior league begins Sept. 28 at 10 a.m.
    Northern Lanes’ open bowling hours through Sept. 22 are Monday through Friday from 6-8 p.m., Saturday from noon-9 p.m. and Sunday from 1-5 p.m.
