Wright takes 8K
CARIBOU — A small field of 39 runners toed the line for the annual Caribou Labor Day 8K Road Race, which started and finished at the Caribou High School track and took place Sept. 2.

The race served as the finale for the annual County Challenge, a racing series which began in February and includes a total of seven competitions which are held throughout Aroostook County.
Mapleton’s Kimberley Wright and Caribou’s Spencer McElwain captured individual titles in the Caribou race, which is billed as the oldest race in The County.
Wright was the women’s champion in 35:45, while McElwain was the men’s winner in 25:52.
Jeff Ashby of Presque Isle was third overall in 29:00, while Trevor Levesque, also of the Star City, placed sixth in 31:24.
Ashby won the 40-49 age divison and Levesque the 15-18 category.
