PRESQUE ISLE — The Central Aroostook Chamber of Commerce is advising members to be wary of an agency soliciting local advertising.
“It has just come to our attention that Skyline Publishing Inc. is contacting our membership and soliciting advertising. This organization is not in any way affiliated with the Central Aroostook Chamber of Commerce or the Aroostook Tourism Committee,” said Theresa Fowler, executive director of the CACC.
According to Fowler, “they have picked up a membership directory and copied ads that make it appear that they are associated with us.”
“The CACC will be selling advertising directly to our members again in 2014 with the regional map, membership directory, Crown of Maine Balloon Fest and hopefully some cooperative advertising options to promote the region,” said Fowler.
Fowler said she advises members in advance, via e-mail, of upcoming advertising opportunities.
“Before you receive any solicitation for a CACC publication, you will receive an e-mail from me telling you about it,” said Fowler.
