Unitarian concert features members of Gregg Allman Band

    The CKS Band from Woodstock, New York will be playing at the Houlton Unitarian Church on Sunday night, Sept. 15 at 7 p.m.

    The CKS Band is a rock and blues power trio featuring Bruce Katz on Hammond B3 organ, Scott Sharrard on guitar and Randy Ciarlante on drums. Katz and Sharrard are current members of The Gregg Allman Band while Ciarlante was the former drummer with The Band and The Levon Helm Band.

FP-Concert-dcx-pt-37IN CONCERT — The CKS Band will perform Sunday night at the Houlton Unitarian Church. The band is made up of members of “The Gregg Allman Band” and former drummer for “The Band.”

    They bring a classic sound of American blues and country rock to their audiences and capture high energy on-stage whether the venue is large or small.
    The CKS Band was formed in September of 2011 and has since played numerous venues and festivals to spectacular reviews. With only 200 seats available, the Unitarian concert space provides an intimate setting to enjoy these accomplished musicians.     The performance will be held in the church’s sanctuary at the corner of Military and Kelleran Streets. All tickets are $16 and are available at York’s Bookstore in Market Square and Visions, 66 Main Street. Concessions will also be available during a short intermission and The Cup Café will be open in the basement before and after the show.
