PIMS girls earn County title
PRESQUE ISLE — Middle school cross country Aroostook League championships were decided at the University of Maine at Presque Isle Oct. 2.

Caribou ran to the boys’ team title by scoring 23 points. Presque Isle was second with 52, followed by Greater Houlton Christian Academy with 71 and Union 122 with 92.
On the girls’ side, Presque Isle came out on top with 31 points. Caribou was the runner-up with 46 and Union 122 placed third with 57.
The individual champs were Caribou’s Evan Desmond and Adessa Judd.
Desmond’s time of 12 minutes and 27 seconds on the three-kilometer course was less than five seconds faster than race runner-up Wesley Ganglfinger of GHCA.
Presque Isle’s top racers were Iffy Sargent, seventh in 14:09, and Brandon McKnight, eighth in 14:12.
Judd captured the win in the girls’ race in 14:23. Sarae Greenier of Union 122 was second in 14:42 and Isabelle Jackson of Presque Isle third in 14:55.
Jessica Boucher of Presque Isle claimed the fifth position in 15:20. She was followed closely by Wildcat teammate Elexis Lunn in 15:30.
PI’s Ellie Goheen (15:45) and Taylor Ellis (16:01) eighth and ninth, respectively.
