MARS HILL NEWS

by Tomi Henderson

The Mars Hill Rotary Club will hold a ham dinner Saturday, Nov. 16, followed by an auction, done in partnership with the Walter T.A. Hansen Memorial Library.

Dinner will be from 4:30-6 p.m., with the auction to begin at 6 p.m. There will be both a silent and live auction with auctioneer Travis Hussey of Easton’s Aroostook Auction Barn.
Cost of the dinner is $7 or $3.50 for children five and under. Proceeds from the auction will go to the library and will be used for general operating expenses.

Raffles

The Mars Hill Rotary Club will be holding a raffle for 100 gallons of fuel oil, donated by Dead River Co. Tickets will be $1 each or $5 for six. The drawing will be held at the dinner/auction Nov. 16. See any Rotarian to buy your tickets today.
The Walter T.A. Hansen Memorial Library will be holding a raffle for four gas cards — two for $50 and two for $25. Tickets will be $1 each or $5 for six. The drawing will be held at the Nov. 16 dinner/auction. See any Trustee or stop at the library to buy your tickets today.

Mars Hill Rotary

The Mars Hill Rotary Club gathered Nov. 5 at 6:30 a.m. at the Aroostook Health Center. The special speaker was Tammy Lovely, independent director for Pampered Chef. She spoke about how she came to be one of the top 20 directors in the direct sales company. One of the goals of Pampered Chef is to bring families back to the table, spending this time together each day.
She started her business in 1999 to have a little bit of “me time” and earn an extra income. That soon changed as she realized the growth potential with Pampered Chef. Tammy was able to raise her daughter as a single parent with her business and not miss any of the important moments in her daughter’s life. She has work hours set up for herself, but planned them around her daughter’s schedule.
Tammy now has 76 representatives in 13 states under her leadership and does phone conferences, classes and shows. She is grateful to be able to share this opportunity with others. She states, “If you want something you’ve never had, you must be willing to do something you’ve never done.” She also likes to tell cooks that good cooking items are like the “power tools” used by a builder!
