UMPI to host wine tasting fundraiser for Senior Class

    PRESQUE ISLE — The Senior Class of 2014 at the University of Maine at Presque Isle will host a Wine Tasting Fundraiser on Thursday, Nov. 21, from 4:30-7 p.m. in the Campus Center. 

Have you always been curious about trying wine or what to pair it with when entertaining? Come sample fine wines paired with a variety of appetizers by ARAMARK Catering Services. Campus and community wine connoisseurs will be on hand to educate guests and answer questions. This event is open to the public. UMPI/Community Band to hold winter concert

    The University of Maine at Presque Isle’s UMPI/Community Band will have a winter concert on Monday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. in Wieden Auditorium with a snow date of Monday, Dec. 9. Jon Simonoff will be the conductor. A variety of music will be performed by this unique group including classic band literature, settings of choral music for concert band, marches, and more contemporary works. Guest conductor Pamela Kinsey will be conducting Christmas music for this event as well.
    The UMPI/Community Band is composed of local and traveling musicians from as young as middle school age to retired music teachers. The event is free and open to the public. FMI, contact Jon Simonoff by e-mail at jonsimonoff@gmail.com.
