Dropping off garbage at the Pine Tree Waste Services transfer station on Alice Street in Houlton was a little different for residents this past week as the operation was moved outside. Concerns over a rotting
support beam for a section of the roof inside the transfer station prompted officials to move the recycling and waste portions outside Saturday and Monday. According to Dean Maynard, the beam was being replaced and regular operation should resume by this Saturday.
