LIMESTONE — Next week, don’t be surprised if there’s a new face at a local business
During the annual Groundhog Job Shadow Day, students of the Loring Job Corps Center get to experience daylong internships in potential career fields or learn about new and unfamiliar occupations.

Highway Tire, Cary Medical Center, congressional offices — Loring students have a history of studying under the tutelage of local businesses for a day to learn how their classroom lessons apply to the real world.
“Groundhog Job Shadow Day provides a unique opportunity to make the workplace come alive for our young people — and that’s what Job Corps is all about,” explained Roger Felix, business and community liaison for the Loring Job Corps Center.
Each year, nearly 60,000 students study through the Job Corps program to learn skills that will help them on their path for employment and a successful career.
“Job Corps understand the importance of making the connections between Center-based classrooms and employer workplaces, and Groundhog Job Shadow Day offers our students another opportunity to do just that,” Felix added.
