The Health Services Foundation is once again raffling off diamonds just in time for Valentine’s Day.
“This year the raffle is being conducted without the benefit of Goodrich Jewelry as an outlet for ticket sales, however, we were lucky when lady fortune smiled on us as Chadwick Florist, Country North Gifts, Daniels Florist, MACS Trading Post, Trendsetters, Houlton Regional Hospital Gift Shop, Paradis Shop ‘n Save-Houlton,
and the Unique Boutique-Island Falls all said they would be happy to sell tickets for us,” said Elizabeth Dulin, Foundation executive director. “We are also grateful to those individuals outside our organization who have stepped up to go out and do sales for us as well. Even though Goodrichs is no longer here, all the diamonds were acquired before the store closed.”
This event is being held in support of new Ultrasound Equipment with 3D capabilities for the radiology department at Houlton Regional Hospital, and will provide all those who use our hospital the newest in ultrasound services.
The drawing will be held at 2 p.m.
“We used 1400 hours due to having fun with the number 14 on day, date, and time,” Dulin said. “Two p.m. could allow local winners to pick up their prize right away, as the drawing will be held at the Foundation Office, located behind the gift shop at the hospital. A winning ticket bought by him may afford the perfect opportunity of giving a diamond to his love on such a special day, and for a lady winner a beautiful diamond piece added to her jewelry collection.
“We had such fun this year with our new twist to the mix of 5 equals 15 prizes,” she continued. “Not only will there be the diamonds, but a host of other wonderful prizes included for ‘Him’ and for ‘Them’ together.”
By going to www.healthservicesfoundation.org individuals can see the line-up of prizes offered.
“Finding out who our lucky winners are is always something to look forward to and this year they will definitely end up saying number 13 was lucky after all,” Dulin said. “We hope those who haven’t purchased a ticket will consider doing so to support the hospital and perhaps honor Walter of Goodrich Jewelry as well for all the years of Foundation support with this event. Even though he moved away Walter still gets the Pioneer Times and we know he would be thrilled to see a really successful outcome for us.”
The needs of any hospital are always great and that is especially true for those with a rural designation like Houlton Regional. Keeping an experience a good one when someone comes here is what it is all about, Dulin added.
Jewelry items may be seen and tickets purchased at the Foundation office, or call 521-2503 for further information and credit card sales; all major credit cards accepted. Those purchasing tickets must be 16 years of age or older to participate, and the winner is responsible for all taxes.
