Hotshot basketball at PI rec
The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department will host its annual Red Claws Hot Shot Competition Feb. 8 and 9 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the William Haskell Community Center.
Youth ages 9-18 are eligible to participate. There is no registration fee and sign-up can be done the day of the event. The top shooters will move on to the regional in Caribou Feb. 19.
C-Me-Ski set for Feb. 15
The 26th annual C-Me-Ski, sponsored by the Limestone Cross Country Ski Club and Friends of the National Wildlife Refuge, will be held Saturday, Feb. 15 at the National Wildlife Refuge in Limestone.
Registration begins at noon, with the youth race taking place at 1 p.m. and the adult race at 1:30 p.m. The cost is free for youths and $10 for adults.

Baseball trip
The 14th annual Fantasy Baseball Trip is slated for July 29-Aug. 2, departing from the Alfond Youth Center in Waterville.
Organized by Vaughn Clark, who has 13 years experience running these trips, the schedule includes two Phillies-Mets games at Citi Field in New York City, a tour of the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y. and two Yankees-Red Sox games at Fenway Park in Boston.
The cost is $860, which includes a $160 deposit. A monthly payment plan is available.

Houlton race kicks off 2014 County Challenge
The Aroostook Musterds Running Club announces the first of its seven County Challenge Racing Series races, the 30th annual Wild Katahdin Trust Snow Run, will take place on Saturday, Feb. 15 beginning at the Millar Arena in Houlton.
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. The 5K walkers’ race begins at 10:45 a.m. and the 5K run begins at 11 a.m. The fee is $12 and the first 50 registrants will receive a long-sleeved T-shirt. Awards will be given to the first male and female in the following age groups: under 14, 15-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and over 60. The first male and female walkers to cross the finish line will also receive awards.
Refreshments and the traditional chicken stew will be available after the event, while a few door prizes will also be drawn.
